Historic accord ensures landscape collaboration commitment across Northern Ireland, England and Wales

In a landmark moment for UK landscapes, Philip Hygate, National Landscapes Association Chair and Martin Carey, Landscapes NI Chair, signed a joint Accord at the Enriched Landscapes, Enriched Lives event at Stormont Parliament Buildings on 23rd October 2024.

The Accord aims to

“Ensure effective collaboration for the benefit of landscapes, nature and communities in Northern Ireland and Great Britain”

It highlights the commonality in the aims and work of Landscapes NI members and the National Landscapes teams across England and Wales and details a commitment to:

  1. Share knowledge and good practice
  2. Develop joint knowledge and initiatives
  3. Advocate and amplify the work that members are doing
  4. Build Capacity
  5. Raise awareness and engagement
