Lough Neagh Partnership
Lough Neagh is the largest freshwater lake in both the UK and Ireland. The lough has a surface area of 151 square miles and is approx. 19 miles long and 9 miles wide.
The Lough is designated as an Area of Special Scientific Interest (ASSI) and also is a Special Protection Area and a wetland of international importance through the RAMSAR Convention. It hosts huge numbers of over-wintering and breeding birds and some unique species of invertebrates and fish.
The Lough Neagh Partnership is a stakeholder organisation that was established in 2003 to help manage and protect Lough Neagh.
The board of the partnership is made up of elected representatives, landowners, fishermen, farmers and local communities.
The Lough Neagh Partnership promotes sustainable development, ensuring the unique character and heritage of Lough Neagh are celebrated and preserved for future generations.
